Why Buddhism Fake Religion read and think your self

Viewing of Sexual Acts as Dirty

The Abrahamic religions are frequently criticised as being critical towards sex, but guess what – the Buddhist teachings in Malaysia does this as well. It is said that women are “dirty”, masturbation causes diseases and disorders, and homosexuals are considered as abnormal and in one book – viewed as the cause of AIDs. I realise that this isn’t true Buddhism, but here in Malaysia, it is preached as such.

Reincarnation – Where’s the scientific evidence?

Buddhism teaches that all beings have an eternal soul, as opposed to a finite body. When we die, we are reincarnated into another body. The exact realms in which we will be born into is determined by our karma. Despite the wishful belief of reincarnation, there is little (if any) scientific evidence for it, and I choose not to uphold this belief. I will explain the problems of the soul in my following posts in detail, but for now, let’s just say that the brain is the core of consciousness, not the soul, and that we cannot survive materialistic death.

Karma – It’s simply superstition.

Karma, or known as “报应 (bao ying)” in Chinese, is core to Buddhism. Karma, in its most basic form is simply cause-and-effect, in which no one can deny in its existence. But for Malaysian Buddhists, it goes one step further.
Here, karma takes a supernatural meaning. It is all to familiar to hear: “You’re going to hell for lying”, “Curse people and you will be reborn with a crooked mouth”, “Look down upon people and you shall be reborn as a ghost”, “If you do bad deeds, accidents will fall upon you” etc. Karma in this context moves way beyond casual determinism. It’s like a omniscient, omnipotent force, constantly monitoring what you do, and blessing you with prosperity or cursing you with accidents and deformations if you do “bad” things. I know that’s not the best analogy, but the word “karma” is quite different from the deterministic cause-and-effect model.

Evolution – Not Compatible with the Six Realms of Existence

The Six Realms of Existence is the one of the core beliefs of Buddhism. There are the realm of the Devas, which are blissful; Asuras, which are more blessed than humans but full of rage, anger, and jealously towards the Devas; the realm of Homo sapiens sapiens; the realm of the Animalia kingdom; the realm of Hungry Ghosts, where they are always hungry and suffering, with a fire-like sensation burning in their throats; and Hell, where “bad souls” get punished for what seems like an eternity through fire, metal birds pecking, dismembering, metal snakes going through one eye and coming out of another, and in the case of the Uninterrupted Hell, it lasts for 3.39738624*1018 years long. Alright, I’m getting off-topic.
A main problem I have is the distinction between humans and animals. Yes, we have evolved advanced thinking abilities in contrast to other members, so we are different from most animals in that way. But from when, I ask, are we to be considered human? Homo sapiens? Homo hablis? Australopithecus? Ardipithecus? What about Neanderthals, who co-evolved with Cro-magnon? The fact that Homo sapiens have only existed in the last few ten thousand years when life existed for billions of years makes the sudden distinction between the 2 realms even more illogical. And I’m not going into why bacteria, plants, and other living organisms were left out.

Conclusion

In this post, I summarized the main reasons why I left Buddhism. Well I agree with a lot of Buddhist teachings, these problems were too large for me to ignore, and I decided that being non-religious was the way to go. This list isn’t exhaustive, and will be subject to update. If I had any misconceptions on Buddhism, please correct me. Thanks.

  2. Hi there, as a Christian, I can say homosexual is forbidden in the bible. In Leviticus 18:22 (NIV) says that "Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable." At this point I believe all religions are on the same page.

But, we don't believe in reincarnation.(Matthew 25:31-46) After humans die, we can go either to heaven which means we have eternal life with Jesus or to hell, where we receive eternal punishment. That's we call afterlife. We're not gonna rebirth into another body here on earth.

We Christians also believe in karma. Job 4:8 "As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it." But again, karma is what we reap and what we sow in this life. We don't talk about the life after we rebirth as the Buddhists believe.

But we do object about idolatry. I see in Buddhism, those people worship idols. Not only one, but a lot. It's an abomination to God.
(Exodus 20 ; 3-4 ) 3 "You shall have no other gods before me.4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below."

Jesus also warns people about false prophets at the end of times. (Mat 24:11) "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many"

FYI, everything that has happened in this world from quakes, tsunamis, wars, diseases, etc have been told in the bible. (Mark 13: 3 - 13)

3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?”

5 Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

9 “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

12 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 13 Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Whoever you are, I pray for you. May God will show you the real hidden truth :)
    God Bless You..

    2. Christianity is fake. Created because there were too many religions in Rome. No scripture predates approx 350AD. It's funny how for 350 years there was no written scripture until Constantine came along.

Research Constantine and then Islam and you will find Islam to be a fake religon also.

  3. I would like to say that I have been brought up as a Buddhist but never really practiced it or knew anything about it till I had enough of people trying to convert me to other religions.
I started reading up on Buddhism and understood life even more.
Karma just means whatever you do will have a course of reaction that follows. Eg. If u upset someone then that causes them to be angry/upset n then they may take their anger on someone else and that chain can continue. I do believe though that karma can be stopped. If the person being targeted on the first time, just ignored the other persons anger n left it at that, Kama did not move on.
Buddhism teaches u to be content with yourself and when ur content u won't care what other people do or say. I dont believe in fate and destiny because everything you do in life is caused by your own actions. You should be responsible for everything u do and not blame it on fate cos I think that's just the easy way out.
Karma is not superstition n people who curse things on you are stupid and uneducated. Like I said karma can be stopped either it be good doing or bad. You are the one that can put out more good karma in the world by stopping bad karma from going further.
I am more passionate about Buddhism now and I thank those who try to push me into believing other religions. Just remember in buddhism is never part of any war or mass distruction and when people believe in Buddhism is by their own choice n not by others trying to brainwash u. Buddhists has never approached people at their lowest point to get them believing in other religions. This is what I found with other religions trying to convert me when I'm down cos their god has all the answers and will help mr get through tough times. The truth is the answer is within u. When you accept that there is always going to be bad things in this world, learn to overcome them, be content with yourself and move on, you will always be happy. Contentment with yourself is the key.

    Hope this helps. X

  4. You are judging all Buddhism by the way your cultural and country teaches it.

Your right! If I lived there I would not be Buddhist either, because nothing and I mean, nothing you wrote here has to do with the Buddha-Dhamma.

    My teacher use to say:
"Horses have four legs, chickens have two; Winter is here and the snow falls more and less."

  7. Hi, as an Ex Christian AND an ex-Buddhist I would like to agree with waruna, you are a fool. I will be glad to sit with you and explain to you why both religions, in fact ANY religion is wrong. But you Christians, your only argument against Buddhism is that it is not Christian. Well rejoice at that.We can't tolerate another Christianity. Buddhism at least is tolerable and as famous atheist Russel said, "I can argue with Jesus, with Buddha I am not so sure." Buddha's teachings were right on, it is the religion of Buddhism that is wrong. As for Jesus, well, he was a liar from the beginning. Sign me, ex bible thumping,ex witnessing, ex-Sunday School teacher ,EX CHRISTIAN and glad to be free of it. Sooner or later you have to realize you are believing nonsense. What will it take for you?

  9. You who don't believe in the God of the bible will one day hear in eternity all those who have tried to warn you. Jesus Christ lives. Buddha is in the grave. All the horrible things you hear in the bible are the fault of man and consequences of sin. God gave man a free will to do as they please and man has caused these things to take place. Bad things happen to "good "people because we live in a fallen world. God gave us the revelation of the Bible and the book of nature through science. The bible is more up to date than tomorrows newspaper I used to hate God but he changed my cold heart.
I don't put credence in an unbeliever who tries to interpret the bible. They believe in the vain reasoning of man. They are not born again. I'm not judging or arguing with anybody. I'm more than willing to you talk about your beliefs. We can talk to each other and disagree. I share my views out of love and if I didn't care about you I would keep silent. May everyone have a great day!

  10. Buddhism actually holds that there is no permanent soul. One of its core tenants is the idea of anatman, which states that all living beings are simply an assembly of components that are in a constant state of change. Failing to grasp this idea of "no-self," one will misinterpret most Buddhist teachings. For example, reincarnation is actually a Hindu belief, not Buddhist. Hinduism holds that there is a permanent soul that passes on from life to life. Buddhists believe in "rebirth" as opposed to reincarnation due to the idea of anatman. Nothing is permanent and there is no soul to carry over to the next life. Basically, some of "your" mental formulations pass on to another life, but "you" are not the same, but completely different. Therefore, Buddhism places much emphasis on the goal of thinking and acting in the best and purest manner, considering the idea that one's life impacts a future life that hasn't come into existence yet. However, I have no idea about popular or mainstream Buddhism in Malaysia and all religions are bastardized by certain groups of people. See you all in samsara!
